Warnermedia HBCU Scholarships for College Freshmen

Warner Media, LLC in partnership with UNCF is taking an initiative to support students by funding their education for the academic year 2021-2022. Warner Media HBCU Scholarship is a need-based scholarship specially designed for the students who are African-American and attending a four-year study program at Historically black colleges or universities (HBCU), majoring in media, communications, or related fields. Students are required to demonstrate their financial need to get the scholarship since it is a need-based scholarship.

The following scholarship is being offered with the sole purpose of supporting people of color. UNCF is taking this initiative to provide financial assistance to the students who are studying at HBCUs or UNCF-affiliated colleges or universities. The interested participants are required to write an essay stating their career goals and interests to participate in the scholarship. The judging panel will review all the submissions and pick out the four most deserving and needy candidates and award them with the amount up to $2,205.

Who is Eligible?

Following are the eligibility requirements that need to be satisfied for participating in the following scholarship contest:

  • The applicant must be classified as an African-American attending one of the Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs).
  • The applicant must be enrolled as a college freshman during the 2021-22 Academic year. 
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • The applicant must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • The applicant must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form.
  • The applicant must prove a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in one of the designated fields: communications, media and communications

How to Apply?

The interested individuals are required to fill out the application form provided on the scholarship portal and submit it. Additionally, the candidate is required to write a 500-word essay online concerning your goals and interest. The application form must be completed by providing all the correct and reliable information and attaching all the below-mentioned documents.

All the applications will be reviewed and judged, and out of all, the most deserving candidates will be chosen and be announced as the winners. The four recipients will be awarded up to $2,205.

The deadline for application submission for the following scholarship is September 1, 2021. No applications will be considered after the deadline.
