Oklahoma Bar Association Law Day Contest for Pre K-12 Students

Oklahoma Bar Association is looking forward to receiving applications from eligible students from around the USA for its Law Day Contest. This program is the perfect mix of art and writing competitions and is available for students in pre-K to 12 grades. There will be three categories in this contest: Coloring, Art, and Writing. For the first categories, Pre-K and kindergarten students can apply and the latter ones are open for 1-12 grade students. This competition will run through January 14, 2022. So whether you have a flair for art or writing is your favorite hobby, this Law Day Contest is the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your ability and win some exciting prizes.

Oklahoma Bar Association will award one grand prize of $500 to the best overall individual entry selected from all grade levels. If the group entry is chosen for the grand prize, then the prize will be divided equally among the team members. Candidates’ work whether it is an art piece or essay, will be evaluated based on originality and interpretation of the theme. The award amount will be varied based on the place you secure in this program. First- and second-place winners in each category will get a framed award certificate along with prize money; honorable mention recipients will receive an award certificate. First-place winners will also get an invitation to an award presentation ceremony at the Capitol.

Oklahoma Bar Association was founded by integrating Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory Bar Associations. This organization has been devoted to offering a wide variety of community service programs created to help Oklahomans. It strives to reach its goal of protecting the public by investigating complaints against lawyers and prosecutes lawyers who have committed ethical violations and offering free legal information and a list of legal resources, consisting of many low- or no-cost assistance programs.

Who is Eligible?

This program will be held in three categories:

  • Coloring – Pre-K and Kindergarten
  • Art – Grades 1st through 12th
  • Writing – Grades 1st through 12th

How to Apply?

Interesting candidates who are looking forward to sending their entry for this program will have to apply in one of the three categories as per their education level. They will have to create artwork/essay and mail it to the following address:

Benefits

One Grand Prize of $500 will be awarded to the best overall individual entry chosen from all grade levels. If the grand prize is awarded to a group entry, the grand prize will be split equally among the group members. Apart from the grand prize, other perks will be awarded as follows:

Pre K and kindergarten

  • Pre-K-kindergarten: $25 for first place, $15 for second place

Art – Grades 1st through 12th

  • First-place and second-place cash prizes and plaques will be awarded for each grade level. Honorable mention certificates may also be awarded.
  • Cash prizes for placement:
  • 1st-5th grades: $50 for first place, $25 for second place
  • 6th-8th grades: $100 for first place; $50 for second place
  • 9th-12th grades: $150 for first place, $75 for second place
  • Group submissions are accepted and will be judged at the grade level of the group member in the highest grade.

Writing – Grades 1st through 12th

  • First-place and second-place cash prizes and plaques will be awarded for each grade level. Honorable mention certificates may also be awarded.
  • Cash prizes for placement:
  • 1st-5th grades: $50 for first place, $25 for second place
  • 6th-8th grades: $100 for first place; $50 for second place
  • 9th-12th grades: $150 for first place, $75 for second place

Application Deadline

Applications are open until January 14, 2022. After this date, applicants will not be allowed anymore to send their entry for this program.
