The Richard Linn American Inn of Court is announcing their Mark T. Banner Scholarship for the year 2020. This scholarship program is currently open for Law students who have entered into a JD program at an ABA-accredited law school in the United States. Applicants must be continuing in that program through at least the fall semester of 2021 to be eligible.
The scholarship program is created to assist deserving and talented students financially. The fund decided by the court will be a great help for the recipients in covering up various expenses related to their educational purposes. Students will be able to accomplish their education without a lesser burden.
Judge Linn began his career in intellectual property law in 1965 as an examiner at the U.S. Patent Office while attending Georgetown’s evening classes. He worked as an examiner for three years. He then moved to the Office of Naval Research, where he wrote and prosecuted patent applications while completing his last year in law school. After receiving his law degree, he continued to prepare and prosecute patent and trademark applications in private practice for about eight years. In 1977, Judge Linn was invited to join the Washington office of Wender, Murase & White, to establish an intellectual property capability in a corporate and general business practice firm based in New York City.
