To support the development of women in the aerospace industry, Zonta International is gladly offering an excellent Amelia Earhart Fellowship. This beneficial programme is seeking applications from women pursuing a doctoral degree in aerospace engineering and space sciences. There is no restriction on nationality.
Zonta International provides up to 35 awards annually to qualified candidates. The organization started offering Amelia Earhart Fellowship in 1938 in the honor of famed pilot and Zontian, Amelia Earhart. This fellowship aims to ensure that women have access to all resources and are represented in decision-making positions on an equal basis with men.
Zonta International is a well-known global organization dedicated to supporting and empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. It was established in 1919 with the motive of fighting for women’s rights. The headquarters of this organization is based in Oak Brook, Illinois. It has more than 31,000 members in 65 countries. In its every effort, it ensures that women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman can achieve her full potential.

Who May Be Eligible?
To see whether you are eligible for this programme or not, please check out the following requirements:
- Candidates should be women pursuing a Ph.D./doctoral degree who demonstrate a superior academic record conducting research applied to aerospace engineering or space sciences
- Entrants can be of any nationality.
- Applicants must be registered in a full-time Ph.D./doctoral program and have completed at least one year of that program or have received a master’s degree in an aerospace-applied field at the time the application is submitted.
- Applicants must not graduate from their PhD or doctoral program before April 2022.
- Classified members, and employees of Zonta International and Zonta International Foundation, and their family members and previous Amelia Earhart Fellows are not eligible to apply.
How to Apply
Individuals, who are interesting in taking part in this programme, can send their application through the origination’s online portal. Through this portal, applicants can log in or create a new account to access the application form. All the applications will be reviewed by the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship Committee.
Benefits
The fellowship is worth US$10,000 and will be offered up to 35 women annually. This award will help promising female students pursue their educational goals, and achieve success in their careers by removing the financial barrier.
