The Stony Brook Southampton has announced The Stony Brook $1,000 Short Fiction Prize its 30th one at that. All undergraduate students are eligible to apply. This year’s 2021 competition is now open is accepting essays. The competition receives interest and entries from across the globe making it one of the most awaited competitions for budding writers. So, if you are a writer who wants to showcase his or her talent to the world, then this opportunity is for you!
The “Short Fiction Prize” is an initiative to encourage young writers to broaden their imagination and get an acumen for fiction. Creative writing allows individuals to use their imaginations and exercise their creative minds. It increases their ability to think about new ideas. Southampton Arts is a thriving cluster with graduate programs in creative writing, children’s literature, podcasting, and animation at SUNY Stony Brook. As a result, all of Southampton Arts’ activities are characterized widely to encourage creative creativity outside of conventional curriculum boundaries and to encourage cross-disciplinary participation in the production of new work.

Who May Be Eligible
Only full-time undergraduates enrolled in universities and colleges in the United States and Canada for the academic year 2020-2021 are exempt. While students with Asian heritage have historically been invited to join, all students are encouraged to take part.
