To financially assist excellent students, Stony Brook University is currently presenting a generous Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship for the academic year 2020-21. Recipients of this scholarship must be citizens or residents of the United States and taking admission in fall as freshman students at Stony Brook University.
Empire State Diversity Honors Scholarship seeks students who have demonstrated high academic achievement characteristics of an honors programme. This funding will prove a big help for students in overcoming their disadvantages or other financial impediments to success in higher education.

Who May Be Eligible?
This scholarship will select those students who fulfill these requirements given below:
- Applicants should be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens and must be New York State residents;
- Candidates must be applying to the university as incoming freshman students;
- Participants should have demonstrated high academic achievement characteristics of an honors program.
How to Apply
No special scholarship application is required. All newly admitted first-time freshman students who are academically qualified will automatically be reviewed for scholarship eligibility. Applicants will be evaluated based on their academic achievements. Those, who will be selected, will receive a scholarship award letter via e-mail to receive a merit-based scholarship.
Benefits
This scholarship will allocate educational funds to all eligible students to help them pay for their university tuition and other educational expenses. This fund will not only reduce the burden of students’ study costs but also work as a motivational push for them.
