Who May Be Eligible
Contestants must be no younger than 14 and no older than 18 years of age as of May 29 in the contest year and must reside in or attend school in Maryland.
How to Apply
Aspirants will have to write down an essay based on science fiction or fantasy no more than 2,500 words in length. Submission must include a title page with the title of the story, the entrant’s name or note Homeschooled, home address, evening phone number, and e-mail address if possible and English teacher’s name. The entry can be sent electronically or offline by mail. Candidates who are applying online can send their submission as an attachment to an email in either Microsoft Word, PDF or Wordperfect format. The first, second and third place winners will receive cash prizes as fellow: $150, $100 and $50, respectively. The three winners shall also receive complimentary registrations for Balticon for themselves and their parents or one guest each. They will also receive a free Balticon T-Shirt.
