The League of Women Voters of Henderson County is pleased to announce that they are launching a 2021 Short Video Contest with a primary focus on environmental concerns. All Henderson County High School students are encouraged to come forward and choose an area of environmental concern that they are passionate about and create a video that clearly and creatively informs the viewer on the topic. The specialists who will be judging the contest are Lynn Killian, Conserving Carolina; Mark Warwick, WTZQ; David Weintraub, Center for Cultural Preservation; and Suzanne Hale, Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway.
The judging panel will select the three most deserving candidates and will award them the following prizes: 1st $500, 2nd $250, and 3rd $100. The deadline for the application submission for the same contest is October 15, 2021. As per the partnership with the Henderson County Public Schools, all public High School students have received the contest flyer. The candidates are required to download the two files from the application packet which contains all the relevant information regards to the following contest.

Who is Eligible?
All Henderson County High School students enrolled for the academic year 2021-2022 are eligible to apply for the following contest.
How to Apply?
The interested individuals are required to do the following to participate in the contest:
- Choose an area of environmental concern that you are passionate about and create a 2-4 minute video that clearly and creatively informs the viewer on your topic.
- Any submission that is less than 1 minute or more than 5 minutes will not be eligible for the competition.
- A media release form is required for the competition.
- Only “royalty-free music” should be used and properly credited. The use of copyrighted material will disqualify the submission.

The videos submitted by you will be reviewed and judged based on the following:
- originality and creativity
- accuracy of information
- maintaining a nonpartisan stance
- attention to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- the film, audio/video, and editing quality
