San Jose State University is now supporting higher education of talented students through its fantastic funding programme named Director’s Scholarship for Excellence. This scholarship is created for all prospective students of the following programme: Master of Library and Information Science, Master of Archives and Records Administration, and MS in Informatics.
Director’s Scholarship for Excellence intends to recognize the potential of new students to take a leading role in shaping their profession. It will provide monetary support to students who demonstrate their interest to be the next leaders of the information career field. This scholarship will make their career and educational goals even easier to achieve.
San Jose State University was earlier known as the Minns Evening Normal School located in San Francisco. It was opened in 1857 making it one of the oldest public universities based on the West Coast. Who May Be Eligible?
Please meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for this scholarship:
- New students admitted to the MLIS, MARA, or Informatics program for fall 2020 at San Jose State University are eligible;
- Applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2.
How to Apply
The application process of this scholarship is creatively designed to help students demonstrate their passion for the information career field. To start the application process, firstly, candidates need to create an infographic/digital poster that highlights their desired career path. They must use their creativity and research skills to share their thoughts on what kinds of issues will be important to them in that career and (2) what drew them to the profession. After completing their infographic, applicants will need to complete an online application form and upload their infographic file in PDF or jpeg.

Benefits
The university will provide five scholarships of $1,422 each to deserving candidates. Director’s Scholarship for Excellence will provide financial assistance to pursue an eligible course at San Jose State University. Moreover, it will enhance their learning experience.
