The Humane Society announced the Pet Picasso Art Contest to share visionary, artistic animal renderings and save lives. Creative people of all ages are encouraged to participate by following easy steps like the following: creating masterpieces using a visual medium, submitting a photo of the pièce de résistance online using the submission link, and asking friends and family to vote for the artworks. The voting will be divided into two categories: children and adults. Each vote costs $1, and all of the proceeds go to the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. The winners can have their portrait featured on one of the 2021 holiday cards and will be eligible for other unique prizes.
Pet Art Contests are a way to raise awareness and give people a chance to win assorted prizes. Art Contests pushes people out of their comfort zone and make them draw something that they would not have thought of on their own. Moreover, winners can have their artworks displayed online or at events and exhibitions. With this, they also gain recognition and meet people with similar interests.
Since 1933, the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County has worked in the Memphis community to give injured and abused cats and dogs a second chance at life. They provide a safe place to recover, outstanding veterinary care and nutritious food for an average of more than a hundred animals at a time. The Humane Society’s staff and volunteers provide affection, training and socialization to the animals in their care to help them be adopted successfully into new and loving homes. Their funding comes exclusively from private donations, and the donors have kept them going for a long time.
