NKBA Student Design Competition

Get ready to unleash your inner designer! National Kitchen and Bath Association is very happy to sponsor its student design competition for 2021. KBB Student Design Competition is considered one of the prestigious design contests out there. This program is capable to increase industry visibility and provide your recognization from professionals. Along with this, it will offer valuable publicity and networking opportunities and acknowledges the talent of aspiring kitchen and bath designers. The program includes two different competitions: The kitchen design competition and the bath design competition. Students can apply for one or both at the same time. Applications will be accepted from NKBA Student Members enrolled in an educational institution on the date of submission. Candidates can become a member of NKBA at no cost.

What participants need to do is to design beautiful, safe and functional spaces, incorporating creative design statements and aesthetically pleasing design solutions. The designs must be based on the client requests and plans provided. An award ceremony will be held during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2022, where all the winners will be recognized and awarded by their peers and industry professionals. Besides the cash prize, they will get complimentary registration and a ticket to the KBIS 2022 expo, admission to the design awards ceremony, hotel accommodations and airfare. The interesting part of this opportunity is that the winning designs will be included in KBB Magazine, and participating in this program is free. NKBA is also known as National Kitchen and Bath Association which has completed its 45 years successfully this year. This organization has been committed to the kitchen and bath industry and contributing through supporting education, networking and raising the professionalism of its members. The goals of the organization are “Education, Standards and Advertising and Public Relations.” This organization set these goals 50 years ago that are still the cornerstone of the association today.

Who May Be Eligible

The following requirements must be met to get selected:

  • Applicants must be NKBA Student Members enrolled in an educational institution on the date of submission.
  • There is no cost to students to join NKBA.
  • Except for experience derived from an internship, entrants must neither have worked in a professional residential design capacity nor have been paid for any design services rendered.
  • Projects entered must be completed individually by the student designer. Co-designers are not permitted.

How to Apply

To send your entry for this program, candidates need to fill out an online application form that requires some information regarding name, address and educational level etc. The provided information should be right and complete since doing so can help judges make the right decision.

Benefits

This program will award the candidates as fellow:

  • First Place – $2,500 Scholarship
  • Second Place – $1,500 Scholarship
  • Third Place – $1,000 Scholarship

Apart from the cash prize, candidates will receive recognization at an award ceremony held during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) 2022 by their peers and professionals in the industry. Their designs will also be featured in KBB Magazine.
