The Message Magazine Summer Cover Contest is organized to give all Message kids a chance to win thirty minutes online class with an artist. The class happens online via Zoom on May 8, 2021, from 15:00 to 15:45. Children can join the contest by drawing a summer scene for the cover of the upcoming Message Magazine using markers or paint. The drawings can be submitted by May 7, 2021, via email to leaders@messageparis.org. Participants can join the Prize Party on May 8 to find out who the three winners are during a fun final party event for all ages.
Activities like drawing and playing come easily to young children. Irrespective of their skills and preferences between chalks, crayons, pencils, etc., drawing is a fun activity for children. This form of expression has numerous developmental benefits. It can develop fine motor skills, including any specialized movement of the hands, wrists, and fingers. Also, drawing encourages visual analysis such as distance, size comparison, and textural differences. Drawing contests can help establish concentration and improve skills & hand-eye coordination.
The Message was established in 1984 when six English ex-pat women living in Paris created the group. The goal was to support one another, build friendships and share information about raising their children far from home and in a different language. Since then, this community has grown a lot and now covers all of Ile-de-France. This community offers a wide range of activities, playgroups, events and support to its members, enabling members and their families to truly thrive in Paris and Ile-de-France. The Message comprises mothers and fathers raising children of all ages. The Message is diverse, with members from over sixty countries who not only speak English but also over twenty other languages. This community has been supporting thousand English-speaking families, 130 active volunteers, 2400 kids of all ages and many parents for thirty-six years.
