Make A Difference Essay Contest for K-8 Grade Students

Anyone can bring a positive difference in the world no matter their position in society, how much they earn and what their age is. Making good social changes does not require only charity of money, food, clothes and any big donation. Even a simple act of kindness can be count as a contribution to making a difference in the world. If we really want to make our world a better place to live, then we need to be more humble and thoughtful toward others and develop good qualities that can benefit not only us but people around us. Kindness and thoughtfulness are valuable traits that a human can have and hold the power to impact the world. Keeping this in mind and encouraging young students to be kinder, the Be Kind People Project has made available an amazing “Make A Difference Essay Contest”. Students K-8th Grade are welcome to apply.

The Be Kind People Project understands the importance of being kind and thoughtful and knows that these two traits are essential for building character in our children and creating a culture of kindness in our schools and communities. We need to teach our young generation the importance of being kind by inspiring them to focus on their attention and actions on making a difference. The motive of this program is to celebrate positive behaviour, enhance the learning environment, and ignite a culture of kindness in schools, homes, and communities. This contest is a way to know the thoughts of the young generation on kindness and how they think they can make a positive impact on the world. The participants of the program will have to write down an essay on a given prompt.

The Be Kind People Project is a non-profit organization providing students with comprehensive youth development programming that effectively uses a positive approach to social, emotional, and academic learning. This project offers innovative and effective programming and services to assist students to understand, link, and apply social, emotional, academic, civic, nutrition, physical, wellness, leadership, and character education. Students are provided experience and project-based learning.

Who May Be Eligible

Students K-8th Grade are invited to apply for this program.

How to Apply

Candidates will need to write down an essay on the given prompt: “If I were in charge of making my community a kinder place, this is what I would do.” Each submission should be student-written and align with academic standards and exhibit a sense of connection with the topic, answers the question, and includes a personal/emotional connection. The entry must have the student’s name and grade level and the teacher/parent’s name, email address, and phone number. The student’s teacher, parent, or guardian can send the entry on the behalf their behalf. They can either upload their entry through the online portal of The Be Kind People and mail entries to 10869 N. Scottsdale Road Suite 103-254 Scottsdale, AZ 85254.

Benefits

The program will be organized on three levels, and at each level, three winners will be selected for first, second and third place.

  1. K-2nd grade
  2. 3rd-5th grade
  3. 6th-8th grade

Apart from the cash prize, one grand prize winner in each category will get a smart speaker or smartwatch, a live video call with THE BE KIND CREW, free admission to The BE KIND American Adventure Field Trip and the opportunity to get included on a national social media broadcast.
