Residents of Indiana have a great opportunity to pursue their higher studies free of cost! The philanthropic foundation Lilly Endowment Inc. is inviting applications to its Community Scholarship Program. If you are a student who wants to pursue your Undergraduate program in your hometown and are economically worried about your higher studies, this is the perfect option for you. Available throughout the 92 counties of Indiana, a total of 143 Lily Endowment scholarships are awarded every year.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program seeks to uplift the educational accomplishments in Indiana. It is a scholarship that works towards the benefits of the community by creating awareness about the importance of education at the personal, civic, and economic levels. It is a way to encourage students to pursue higher education and ultimately have careers in Indiana itself. The main aim of this scholarship is to develop the quality of life in Indiana.

A private philanthropic foundation, Lilly Endowment Inc. was created in 1937 based in Indianapolis. Catering to the welfare of the society the Lilly Endowment Inc is one of the largest foundations and endowments in America and one of the major foundations to fund Christianity. It is a foundation that sets development goals for the community, education, and religious affairs. Its creators aim to change the “character of the American people”. The Independent Colleges of Indiana govern the Lilly Endowment Scholarship Program.

Who May Be Eligible?

The eligibility criteria to be considered for the scholarship are:

  • Applicants should be residents of Indiana
  • Applicants should complete their high school degree from Indiana
  • Applicants must apply to one of the public or private colleges accredited by the Higher Learning Commission

Benefits

Recipients of this award shall receive full tuition, required fees, and book stipend for four years. They must be enrolled in any of the full-time undergraduate programs from the list of eligible colleges. The selection process and criteria for each county differ from the other. A total number of 143 awards shall be awarded annually.
