Graduate School Scholarships for Teachers

In today’s world, the two words are commonly interchanged and mean the same thing. However, you’ll sometimes come across the words being used in various ways. A scholarship is often awarded on the basis of merit, including qualifying requirements such as a GPA. A grant is a needs-based scheme that uses criteria like socioeconomic inequality and wealth to determine eligibility.

You are still eligible for general financial assistance as an undergraduate instructor, but the pool of funding is immediately expanded by deliberate attempts to attract talented graduates to the discipline. Grants and scholarships for education majors are funded by the government, educational societies, and other private institutions. Teacher funding ranges from merit-based grants to tuition-for-service arrangements that include post-graduation teaching obligations. In general, grants are dependent on need and have no performance requirements. Scholarships, on the other hand, are often tied to criteria such as GPA.

Scholarships for future and existing educators are widely accessible in a multitude of subject areas, including English, Social Studies, Physical Education, the humanities, and STEM sectors, for those who are willing to fulfil the call to teach. The following list is a great guide for students only starting out in the world of education, as well as teachers looking for graduate-level instruction. Although certain of these scholarships are available to all, some are state-specific, content-specific, or require additional qualifications. Educators and others considering a career in education will apply for a variety of scholarships and grants. We’ve provided information on a variety of scholarships available in the United States below. Here is a list of 10 scholarships to help you get started!
