British American Foundation of Texas Scholarship

British American Foundation of Texas is very excited to announce the availability of its undergraduate scholarship program available for 2021. This scholarship offer is an initiative toward helping students who hail from low-income families eliminate their financial barriers. This award will be applied toward the tuition and other expenses of eligible students. To qualify, candidates should be enrolled in full-time education within the Texas education system and majoring in science, technology, engineering, math or business.

This scholarship will be offered to students in fall and will provide needed financial support to students who are willing to study in Texas. Studying at a reputed college in Texas may be quite expensive for students whose financial resources are limited. For such students, a scholarship can prove to be a boon, and help them pay for their higher education. Through this scholarship, the British American Foundation of Texas wants to support students in Texas achieve their education goals irrespective of their financial condition.

Since 2007, the British American Foundation of Texas has been helping deserving students reach their fullest potential by making financial support available for them. It offers a number of scholarships to support financially unprivileged students. So far, it has assisted many students in completing their studies, start on their career paths and reach their potential.

Who May Be Eligible

Check out these given requirements first:

  • Candidates must be a resident of Texas;
  • Aspirants must be enrolled in full-time education within the Texas education system;
  • Recipients must be majoring in science, technology, engineering, math or business;
  • Candidates should come from a low-income household;
  • Students must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above;
  • Applicants must be able to attend an Awards Dinner to receive the award in Houston in April 2021, subject to being able to gather safely given the COVID-19 pandemic.

How to Apply

The application process of this program includes completing an online application form and sending it with the required documents given below.

Supporting Documents

  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher on a school or college letterhead. If your teacher prefers to keep this letter confidential, it can be sent separately by email to info@baftx.org before the deadline of 5 pm on March 31.
  • School transcript (official or unofficial);
  • FAFSA report (or TAFSA report for non-US citizens);
  • Submit an essay of between 400 and 450 words describing your educational and career goals and why you need a scholarship from BAFTX to achieve them. Excluding financial needs, what are the most significant challenges you expect to face in successfully completing college? How will you overcome these challenges?

Benefits

Students will be provided with an educational fund that can be applied toward their tuition and other study-related expenses. This support will make it easier for students to attend a leading institution in the wonderful city Texas on affordable rates.

Application Deadline

Candidates need to send their application with required documents by March 31, 2021. No late application will be considered.
