YWCA Greater Cincinnati is offering the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship for the black women. Black female students attending a high school in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area demonstrating the ability to overcome adversity are invited to apply for the scholarship.
The purpose of the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship is to support black women. The mission of the scholarship is to empower women and eliminate discrimination. The scholarship aims to acknowledge black women who have been successful academically despite the hardships. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to women.
YWCA is the oldest and largest multicultural women’s organization in the world and has been at the forefront of most of the pressing social movements for more than 150 years. The YWCA Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship was established in 1993 to provide financial assistance and support to an outstanding Black female Greater Cincinnati high school senior entering a post-secondary institution.

Who May be Eligible?
To be considered for the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Mamie Earl Sells Scholarship, the applicant must abide by the eligibility criteria-
- The applicant must be a Black female.
- The applicant must have a minimum academic average of “B” (3.0) from the most recent grading period.
- The applicant should be in the top 1/3 of her high school class. The applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to overcome adversity.
- The applicant must be attending a high school in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area.
- Top three Scholarships will be awarded upon proof of enrollment at a post-secondary institution or college.
