Creative Writing Scholarship Competition

Thea Foundation has started receiving applications from students across the state of Arkansas for its Creative Writing Scholarship Competition. For this program, the Foundation accepts dozens of applications, and its panel of judge selects only five mater pieces. This year, the theme is “What it means to be me.” The essay must be of 1,000 words and be original works; no plagiarism or copyright infringement. The winners will be selected for first to fourth place. The award amount ranges from $2,000 to $4,000.

Patricia Cornwell Creative Writing Scholarship

Davidson College is actively encouraging young writers to be a part of its Patricia Cornwell Creative Writing Scholarship. This program is created for students who demonstrate exceptional talent and a passion for writing. It was established by Patricia Cornwell, who is an author and has written over 30 books translated into more than 20 languages. The value of this award is $25,000. It is an annual award offered to one student in each first-year class. Renewal of the program will be done if participants maintain the required grade point average, make expected progress toward a degree, and remain engaged in the writing community. You don’t need to be a major in English.
