Virginia Zoo of Norfolk is organizing its 2022 Calendar Contest, and all the US residents are invited to participate. You have to click a picture featuring Virginia Zoo animals or garden and submit it on the official website for participation. The image should be submitted in a jpg/png file format with a minimum resolution of 240 dpi/ppi. The file size should not exceed 4 MB, and no humans should be featured, or else the image will be automatically disqualified. The contest will begin on July 1, 2021, and will end on July 31, 2021. You are requested to submit your entries in the mentioned period.
The top 12 photographs will be featured in the 2022 calendar of the Virginia Zoo. The cover page winner will get a free Virginia Zoo membership, and all the winners will get a copy of the 2022 calendar. The zoo is dedicated to sustainable practices and encourages the community for the same. A way of doing this is by saving energy. The zoo has reduced the electricity consumption by using light sensors to turn on lights in guest rooms, and keeping overhead lights off in hallways, and unused rooms. They are envisioned to create a world where everyone values wildlife and the environment.

Who is Eligible?
All the US residents are eligible to participate in the 2022 Calendar Contest organized by the Virginia Zoo of Norfolk. The following submissions are ineligible:
- Photos featuring animals that are not currently in exhibit in the Zoo. (Elephant, seal, etc.)
- Photos that violate or infringe upon someone else’s rights.
- Photos featuring humans.
- Photos that contain obscene, nude, or inappropriate content.
How to Apply?
For participating in the contest, the candidate must follow the stated steps:
- Click a photograph that depicts the current Virginia Zoo animals and gardens.
- Please submit a photograph in no more than 4 MB in jpg or png file format.
- Submit the photograph in high resolution of at least 240 dpi
- The photo files must be labelled in the following format: ANIMAL_Firstnamelastname.png/jpg.
- Four photos are allowed for submission at a maximum by one person.
Benefits
The winning photographs will be featured in the 2022 Virginia Zoo calendar, and the cover winner will win a Virginia Zoo Membership. All the winners will get a copy of the Virginia Zoo Calendar.
