The Tourism Leadership Council Scholarship is offering students a Scholarship for the ones who are currently pursuing or are interested in pursuing a career in tourism, culinary or the hospitality industry. This scholarship recipient and one guest will be invited to the dinner at no charge at the Tourism Award & Scholarship Dinner. Scholarship money will be handed out to the student and may be used at the student’s discretion. So if you’re someone who is pursuing or plans on pursuing a career in the culinary, tourism or hospitality industry, then I believe this scholarship will fit right in.
It can be a task to find the right set of people to work with or under in the hospitality industry. Staying on your toes all day, the heavy work hours& the cutthroat competition can turn out to be quite gruesome for a few. So in order to help relieve some stress from those young shoulders, the Tourism Leadership Council has come forward with this scholarship to encourage and help students pursuing a career in this industry.

Who May Be Eligible
To be eligible for this Scholarship, the applicant must be a student enrolled in a college or technical school who are interested in pursuing a career in the culinary, tourism, or hospitality industry. Preference will be given to those enrolled in these specific programs, but anyone is encouraged to apply. High school students are also eligible to apply. The student must maintain a 3.0 or above grade point average.
Supporting Documents
- A current resume, including any work experience, extracurricular activities, community involvement and awards.
- Two letters of recommendation. Recommendations can be from teachers, professors, supervisors, etc.
- And an essay describing why you have chosen your current field of study and your vision of your future career.
How to Apply
The students must go onto the TLC website, fill out the application form and attach all the required supporting documents.
Benefits
The winners of this Scholarship will receive discretionary funds which they can use as financial aid in their pursuit of a career in the tourism/hospitality industry.
