The NGPA is inviting students who have excelled in their advocacy of the LGBTQ+ community for its Steven Moore Advocacy Scholarship. The program is applicable for the current NGPA members with a student pilot certificate and medical certificate.
The aim of conducting the award is to assist and motivate students towards their higher education. The grants will support deserving recipients to defray the high cost of flight training, tuition, and fees and accomplish their dreams and goals.
The National Gay Pilots Association is known as the largest organization of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer aviation professionals and enthusiasts from around the world. Its mission has been to Build, Support, and unite the LGBTQ aviation community worldwide through education, social events, and outreach.
Who May Eligible?
To eligible for the program, the candidates must be following the entire eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must be a current NGPA member at the time of application submission
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the date of application
- Must have a current medical certificate
- Must have at least a student pilot certificate
- Must have accomplished first solo flight
How to Apply
Eligible students who are interested in the scholarship are required to create a new account or sign in to the existing one to get considered for the program. Applicants are asked to fill the form by providing each and every required detail.
Rules
Applicants may apply for two scholarships; however, applicants will only be allowed to receive one (1) scholarship should they be selected for several awards.
Benefits
The NGPA is pleased to offer one $6,000 scholarship to help the recipient in any portion of flight training, tuition and fees, within a flight education program at an accredited college, university, or flight school. The recipient is expected to attend the 2021 Winter Warm-Up in Palm Springs, California. The NGPA will cover travel, hotel accommodations, and registration fees.
