SIGNIS International Youth Podcast Competition 2021

Do you have good communication skill and want to put them to good use? Is it fascinating to share your experiences, thoughts, incidents and views on various topics with people? Well, SIGNIS would like to aware you of the availability of its International Youth Podcast Competition. The motive of this contest is to generate interest in radio among people. Individuals from SIGNIS Africa, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, Europe, North America & the Pacific Regions are encouraged to join the program. Moreover, participants must be aged between 18 and 35 years old. All candidates are required to submit 1-3 minute podcasts on Pope Francis’ recent Encyclical to enter this competition. This could be the best opportunity for you to take your passion for radio and communication skills to the whole next level.

SIGNIS Asia Radio Desk, in partnership with SIGNIS Radio Desk, is going to host the first SIGNIS Catholic International Radio Encounter in February 2022 in Sri Lanka. The program will carry the theme of “Engaging Youth for a Dynamic Radio, Uniting Asia and the World.” In this program, radio experts from around the world will take part to share their experiences and learn from each other. The best part is the participation of selected groups of young people from every continent. Winning this competition will get you a wonderful cash prize that you can use for your education or future career endeavours. Besides the cash prize, you will get the chance to attend the International Radio Contest in Sri Lanka in 2022, and your trip to Sri Lanka will be sponsored.

SIGNIS is a non-governmental organization with more than 100 members from different countries around the world. It is also known as the World Catholic Association for Communication and has been dedicated to brings together radio, television, cinema, video, media education, the Internet, and new technology professionals. It was founded in November 2001 by merging two organizations Unda, and OCIC. These organizations were both created in 1928. Its primary work is to do all activities related to audiovisual creation.

Who May Be Eligible

Youth from SIGNIS Africa, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, Europe, North America & the Pacific Regions are welcome. Aspirants must be aged between 18 and 35 years old.

How to Apply

For participation, you will have to create and submit 1-3 minute podcasts on Pope Francis’ recent Encyclical. All the podcasts entries must be submitted with a synopsis in English, and they must have the recommendation or approval of their SIGNIS Country President. Benefits

The awards will be distributed as fellow:

  • 1st Place: 2,000 USD and a trip to the International Encounter in Sri Lanka in February 2022
  • 2nd Place: 1, 500 USD
  • 3rd Place: 1,000 USD
  • 4th Place: 750 USD
  • 5th Place: 500 USD
