The Austin Alliance for Women in Media Scholarship provides an amazing opportunity for women studying Media or other relevant fields in the Austin area. Preference will be given to students who have graduated from their High Schools present in the Austin area, and have completed 60+ hours of college course work before the end of their session.

Students who are interested to apply must hold a minimum GPA of 3.25 or above and must be currently enrolled in a College or University in any discipline related to Media. Students must have major in either of these- Television, Film, Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing, Radio, and so on, to avail this scholarship. The scholarship award will be offered to the selected candidate at the Trailblazer Awards Gala in Austin, Texas.

2. CBC Spouses Performing and Visual Arts Scholarships-Congress Black Caucus Foundation

The CBC Spouses Scholarship for Performing and Visual Arts was established in the year 2000, in the honor of late Curtis Mayfield to ensure that African American or Black Students particularly women pursuing their higher studies receive financial support. This scholarship is especially for students of Black origin, who are pursuing their degrees in Performing or Visual arts with subjects including Theatre, Drama, Comedy, Opera, Dance, Music and so on.

In order to grant this scholarship, students must be currently enrolled in full-time accredited Performing or Visual Arts programs and have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. 3. Dr. Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship-Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education

Dr. Barbara Odom-Wesley served as president of the American Health Information Management Association and Texas Health Information Management Association and is an active community volunteer. This Scholarship has been dedicated to her selfless service and offered with an aim to help young African American women who are currently High School seniors, wanting to pursue their higher studies.

The residents of Arlington, Texas are eligible for this scholarship, and especially female students, High School seniors attending schools in Tarrant County are given preference.

The Scholarship amount can be used in their College or University degrees, however, Trade, Technical, and Cosmetology schools are ineligible for this scholarship amount.

6. Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program- South Texas College

The Texas Educational Opportunity Grant Program is organized by South Texas College and is offered to students of High School with academic excellence. There are a number of criteria to fulfill before you apply for this scholarship such as you must be a resident of Texas, have completed and submitted a FAFSA or TASFA application form by October 1st, have no background of Crime, have an expected Family Contribution (EFC), must complete 67% of the hours attempted in the academic year, and have an overall grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

10. Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship- Communities Foundation of Texas

The last one on our list is a scholarship offered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, that is provided for female students who are Graduating seniors of High School.

This scholarship amount earned can be used for tuition, books, and fees to attend any accredited post-secondary educational institution, such as 4-year colleges, junior colleges, and Vocational schools across the United States. The best part about this scholarship is there are no limitations on the field of study. There are a few criteria that students may fulfill before applying for this scholarship such as, applicants must reside in Dallas County, or Collin County, Texas, and be United States citizens. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must submit their two Letters of Recommendation and be descriptive about their financial needs while writing their essays. Finalists shall be invited for an interview at the Communities Foundation of Texas or virtually, and the winners will be selected based on that. The community offers scholarships amounts up to $30,000, to ensure a bright future for young female High School graduates.
