Port of Coos Bay Scholarship for High School Seniors

Let us announce a great opportunity to all the high school senior from Oregon who plans to attain college or university in a field related to trades or skills related to the maritime, rail, or trade and logistics industries for their graduation purpose. They want to seek students from the port who cannot receive the proper education and support of the finances. They have kept the eligibility criteria not limited only to academic performance but also to academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and expectations for future success in the academic setting.

Their rigid aims to support deserving students from the port who want to pursue graduation and develop the economy, future, and vitality of the community they live and work in. They are dedicated to supporting the growth and development of Oregon’s South Coast regional economy by encouraging the workforce by encouraging tomorrow’s youths. They want to help the seeking students who can do something for the future of the district.

The port’s boundaries include the Coos Bay harbor, which has been a little challenging to develop the region, serving as the multimodal connection point for logs, lumber, and woodchips produced by the region’s mills, and the watershed of the Coos and Millacoma Rivers. The timber industry is smaller than previously; it is still a major source of jobs in the region. The organization is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of Oregon’s South Coast regional economy.

Who May Be Eligible

Below mention is the eligibility criteria for the scholarship; kindly take a look :

  • The applicant must be a resident of Oregon
  • Applicant must be good in academics
  • The student should be a high school senior
  • Students must be planning to attend advanced educational institutions such as a trade school, community college, or university.

Candidates can also send the application In Person at the address: 125 Central Ave, Suite 300, Coos Bay, OR 97420 between Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm (closed for lunch 12-1 pm)

Supporting Documents

Kindly submit the mentioned documents along with the application:

  1. Students must provide a letter of acceptance by any college or university within Oregon for advanced educational institutions such as a trade school, community college, or university.
  2. Applicant must submit the at least two letter of recommendation (no more than four) from your teachers, principal, or guidance counselor
  3. Fellows must submit proof of academic performance
  4. Applicant must submit a full application

Benefits 

The scholarship will increase the interest of the student in academics and also the other curricular activities. This scholarship should be used only to pay the fees, academic expenses, tuition fees, and other curriculum-related expenses. This scholarship is also advantageous for the community for improving their economy and another facility of the district. Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded.
