National Wildlife Federation is very excited to call talented and creative individuals to take part in its National Wildlife Photo Contest for 2021. This year, the candidates will be selected for nine categories: Birds, Mammals, Baby Animals, Other Wildlife, Landscapes & Plants, People in Nature, Mobile, Young Nature Photographers. National Wildlife Photo Contest is designed to recognize and reward young photographers. By taking part in this competition, you will not only honour your work but also contribute to supporting the conservation mission of the National Wildlife Federation, which is all about saving wildlife species and their habitats. The most interesting images can contribute to protecting wildlife in profound ways.
To participate in this contest, you don’t need to be professional. If you are just a novice who likes to capture the beauty of nature on camera and want to put your skills into use, then this contest will be an excellent opportunity for you. It will help you make some money, refine your photography skills, give you the experience to compete at such a high level and boost your career. The award amount will be varied depending on the place you secure as the winner. Participants retain rights to their work and have the option to donate images. The history of this contest dates back to five-decade ago when it was started. Since ever, it has been dedicated to celebrating the power of photography to advance conservation and connect both photographers and viewers with wildlife and the outdoors.
National Wildlife Federation is considered America’s largest and most trusted conservation organization serving from the front lines and fighting for the conservation values since 1936. This organization works around the country to bring together Americans from all walks of life for giving wildlife a voice.

Who May Be Eligible
All nature photographers age 13-17 can apply for this contest.
How to Apply
To enter this contest and send your entry, you need to register or log in through the online portal of the National Wildlife Federation. If you are a new candidate who does not have National Wildlife Federation’s account, you will need to register for this contest. On the other hand, candidates with an account have to log in to access the online application form.
Benefits
The prizes will be distributed as follows:
- Grand Prize: One winner will get the Nature’s Witness award, a cash prize of $5000 and a Tamron SP 150-600mm Di VC USD G2 Lens.
- Portfolio Prize: One winner will receive a cash prize of $750
- First Place: One winner for each of the eight subject categories will gain a cash prize of $500
- Second Place: One winner for each of the eight subject categories will be provided with a cash prize of $250
- Honourable Mentions: Each will receive a certificate of distinction and National Wildlife Federation calendar
