The John Gibson MD Scholarship is a revolutionary idea to foster brilliant and deserving candidates, who have the understanding and the potential to pursue their higher education in reputed universities in the US but lack the funds in order to achieve it. The idea of the initiative is based on a 20-year long training and experience that John Gibson has had in the psychiatry discipline through his start-up ‘Quartet Health’, clubbed with his experience in management consulting. His motivation to help financially backward students with great potential was what led to the creation of this scholarship.
John Gibson presently works at Pilot44’s Director of People Operations, and through his efforts was able to facilitate the conversion of their employment procedure. He attained his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has won several awards, including the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for clinical distinction and pledge to humanism in the field of medicine; the Alexander Simon Award for teaching and American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award. In short, he is what we can call a psychiatric think-tank, with over 10 years of experience in the field. Being the responsible individual he is, he strongly feels that poor students in the US are unable to afford expensive higher education in the country. The scholarship is a philanthropic effort from his side to help such students take one step closer to their dream schools.
