Hill Country Alliance is presenting you with the opportunity to take part in their latest Photo Contest ‘“Solace and Strength: Portraits of Resilience in the Texas Hill Country”. Since last year, the situation of the world has carried a lot of issues and obstacles. To celebrate the peace, tranquillity and strength of Texas Hill Country, HCA has organized this contest. They are asking the photographers to come out with their cameras to capture the beauty of the country. The best part about this photo contest is that this is open to all categories of people. Therefore, if you are one of those individuals who are interested in photography and nature, then through this contest, you can show your artistic talent. This year photo contest will allow the public to view the photographs and vote for their favourite ones.
HCA has offered this contest to celebrate the spotlights of Texas Hill Country. This contest also aims at highlighting nature and its beauty through the portraits of landscapes, springs, wildlife, star-filled skies and hidden views. HCA’s annual Texas Hill Country Calendar showcases photographs every day, which talks about the country and its elegance. This photography contest enables the future generation to understand the country’s beauty and protect nature from depletion due to the increase of pollution. It also enhances the spirit of photographers willing to capture the country’s beauty through their cameras.
HCA is a non-profit organization formed with the motto of preserving the natural recourses of the Texas Hill Country. In September 2004, people started educating the public and sharing their views to preserve water resources, the conversation of wildlife and other issues of natural obstacles. The Hill Country Alliance promotes responsible and planned growth in a region under tremendous pressure to urbanize. HCA’s primary concern is to reach out to the public of Texas Hill country to inform them regarding the significant issues faced by the people of the country and how to take protect them.

Who may be Eligible?
HCA’s photo contest is open to all categories of individuals. The only restriction is regarding the members of HCA and their immediate family members, who are not eligible to take part in the contest. Apart from these members of HCA, the contest is open to all. The contest is open to all to encourage photographers belonging to every age, irrespective of gender and category.
How to apply?
It is an easy method to take part in this photo contest. You can go through the online portal of the HCA website and make your submissions. The participants will hold their copyright and ownership for their submissions.
Supporting Documents
Along with the entries, the entrants must follow these formats for submission:
- Photos must be submitted in horizontal or landscape format.
- Photographs should be submitted electronically as high-quality jpegs. (minimum of 72 ppi and 1008 pixels)
- The file size should not exceed 2MB
- Finalist must submit within 300 PPI maximum quality jpeg.
- Only colour photos will qualify
- Photos must be free of watermarks.
- Each contestant may enter a maximum of four photographs
- Published photographs must be attached with the link for their earlier publications.
- Photographs must be taken within the 17 County Hill Country Regions.
- HCA will not be responsible for damaged or lost submissions.

This contest will provide the present generation with the opportunity to count into things that are affecting the nature of Texas Hill County. It is also beneficial for the future generation to look into the beauty and authenticity of their county through the preserved photographs depicting nature and its county. Apart from these benefits, the photographs are getting an opportunity to enhance their skills and present their photography through the platform.
Application deadline
The entries for the photo contest begin from 15th May 2021 and ends by 30th May 2021 at midnight. All those who are excited about the contest may apply beforehand for ease of entries.
The finalist will be informed in June 202. In this regard, the finalist would be asked to submit their photographs into high resolutions as mentioned above. The winning photographs will be featured under the annual calendar of HCA during August 2022.
