To encourage women from under-served communities to pursue an education and career in the Geosciences, or Earth Sciences field, the Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) has introduced the Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Accessibility (IDEA) Scholarship. The scholarship program is open for the academic year 2022-2023.
This scholarship programme, the Geoscience Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, and Accessibility (IDEA) Scholarship program, has been exclusively designed and organized for women pursuing careers in the field of Geosciences or Earth Sciences in an accredited American university or college. The association will select two or more winning students and extend an overall award of $5,000 among the winners.
The Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) is an international professional organization that promotes the professional development of its members, provides geosciences outreach to girls, and encourages the participation of girls and women in the geosciences. Association for Women Geoscientists (AWG) was founded in 1977 with the purpose to provide encouragement to women in the geosciences, a career choice where they were largely underrepresented at the time.
