The County of Santa Clara Parks is actively administering an exciting program called “County Parks Youth Art Contest” for students with a passion for art. This program is celebrating earth day and inviting young artist to showcase their talent and put their skills into use. K-12 grade students are encouraged to become a part of this competition. This program is more than just a contest. It is the way of the County of Santa Clara to draw the attention of youngsters toward the beauty and awesomeness of nature. The program wants all participants to draw their favourite park activity, dream ultimate playground or their hidden spot to guess at cloud formations, and send it to compete. So if you are a student who likes to draw and have any favourite activity, game or any imagination regarding the playground that you would like to share through your art, then this contest is looking forward to receiving your application.
The contest requires all candidates to go beyond the limits and let their imagination run wild as they prepare their artwork. The submission will be judged based on creativity, good use of colours and uniqueness. All participants are encouraged to use their imagination, express themselves with colours, style and creativity and the most important is to have fun. For this contest, up to 16 students will be selected and awarded. The winners will get not only a grand prize but also the chance to have their artwork featured on posters throughout Santa Clara County Parks. Moreover, the winning entries will be featured on County of Santa Clara Parks’ social media and parkhere.org, and the winners will be granted a small thank you gift. The program is organized into four groups and each group has four categories. Candidate can be selected for one group based on their educational level and will have to choose one category to prepare their artwork. Hurry up before you miss the chance!
County Park’s has been dedicated to providing outstanding recreational opportunities in beautiful natural locations for six decades and its dedication to its six decades-long legacies has resulted in one of the largest regional park systems in California. Santa Clara County park system consists of 28 regional parks encompassing over 52,000 acres of land. The first County parkland was acquired in 1924. Its ranger, maintenance and interpretive staff are committed to playing an important role in protecting and completing the overall park experience with the help of 1,400 volunteers who selflessly donate more than 60,000 hours of labour each year.

The first form is for those who want to submit their entry through an online portal and the latter is for those who are interested in sending it via mail. Rules
Follow the given guidelines as you create your artwork:
- Each person may submit up to four (4) pieces of artwork
- Artwork can be any medium – crayon, pencil, pens, watercolour, charcoal, digital, etc.
- Artwork must be 8.5” x 11” format (landscape or portrait)
- Include first name and age on artwork in the lower right-hand corner
- Submit original artwork under the appropriate category and school grade level
Benefits
Selected candidates will get the chance to get their artwork featured on the social media handles of County of Santa Clara Parks and parkhere.org. They will be provided with a small thank you gift. Along with that, winners from each age group and category will have their artwork featured on posters throughout Santa Clara County Parks and get a grand prize. Up to 16 prizes will be distributed among winning candidates.
