- Applicants must be residents of Jackson County, Michigan;
- Candidates should be a high school senior who holds a GPA of 3.25 or above;
- Aspirants must be a college student who holds a GPA of 3.0 or above;
- Participants must have been accepted to or attending an accredited public Michigan college or university;
- Candidates should intend to enrol or is enrolled in a school of education to study elementary education or special education;
- Preference will be given to those majoring in special education;
- Participation in school, community or volunteer activity;
