The rigid aims to support deserving students through this scholarship. The foundation dreams big and is willing to help young minds who dream big too. The Anna Belle Carter Memorial Foundation was established to financially assist deserving students affected by scleroderma in furthering their education goals at an accredited college, university, or technical school to attain an undergraduate degree, an initial graduate degree, or certification. The foundation awards scholarships to the students based on academic potential and demonstrated achievement, exemplary citizenship, personal character, and need.

Anna was a middle child born to a military family diagnosed with scleroderma in the last months of 2017. She uses to fight the virus every week, but in July 2020, due to covid-19, their relatively healthy kid was gone within a matter of days because of this virus. The governor put in a mask mandate on July 11th. They mourned our child in isolation, and when they were allowed, most of their family couldn’t come to her funeral due to travel restrictions. They have decided that we will start this memorial foundation in her name. They know the financial cost of medical treatments and travel to specialists to care for the child. So this scholarship foundation will hopefully ease a little of that burden for a select few youths in the United States every year who apply.
