Students who are graduating seniors attending high school in San Mateo County are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
Aslan Foundation introduced the Andrew Q. Peschard Memorial Scholarship to support the students who have encountered mental illness. The impetus of the scholarship is to help such students desiring to pursue higher education by providing them with financial assistance. The scholarship aims to empower and spread awareness among students about mental health.
The Aslan Foundation was formally founded in 2019. The foundation was formed in response to family experiences of Andrew Q. Peschard’s family with mental illness. The Aslan Foundation identifies resources in San Mateo County, which addresses the needs of adolescents living with mental illness, offers guidance to families, and sponsors the AQP Memorial Scholarship.

The recipients of the Andrew Q. Peschard Memorial Scholarship will receive an award of $1000. The scholarship amount will help the student in paying for education-related expenses like tuition, fees, books and other associated costs with financial assistance. The beneficiary will have some financial burden reduced and become aware of mental health.
To achieve consideration for the Andrew Q. Peschard Memorial Scholarship application, the applicant must apply before December 31, 2020. Applications will not be considered past the due date.
