American Indian Resource Center High School Scholarships

The American Indian Resource Center is a non-profit organization that allows Native American students, supporting them through scholarships and funding toward higher education. American Indian Resource Center is recognized as a non-profit corporation with the state of Oklahoma.

The American Indian Resource Center wants to help the students to have brighter careers. This organization, through these scholarships, is looking forward to helping students who cannot afford the financial expenses. American Indian Resource Center will make it possible for students to accomplish their higher education and do better in their careers. The process of scholarships is straightforward.

The American Indian Resource Center’s goal is to develop culturally appropriate expedient to meet the needs of American Indian communities. AIRC provides professional expertise to and on behalf of American Indian tribes, organizations, and schools. For more than 30 years, American Indian Resource Center has successfully managed to provide contracts and grants from the United States Education Department, U.S. Department of Labor, Indian Health Service, U.S. Department of Justice, Indian tribes, and area schools.

Who May Be Eligible

Take a look at the requirements you have to stand on to be accepted for these scholarships:

  • Applicants must be high school senior and participate in the American Indian Resource Center’s Educational Talent Search program.
  • Students must be full-time student seeking a college degree or technical certificate at an accredited institution (for-profit institutions prohibited, i.e. University of Phoenix).
  • Individuals must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.

How to Apply 

Interested applicants can apply for the American Indian Resource Center scholarship online. Applicants are requested to ensure they have collected all the supporting documents to apply for the scholarship. Any incomplete application or documents will not be accepted for the scholarship.

Supporting Documents 

  • Letter of Acceptance from an accredited college or university or technical school must be attached to the application.
  • The 7-semester High School Transcript & College Transcript must be submitted with the scholarship application.
  • Applicants must submit their recent photograph with the application.

A list of the activities and organizations the candidate have been involved in, honours and awards you have received, leadership positions you have held, and community service you have completed (dating back three years) must be listed with the application.

The following questions must be answered briefly with a minimum of 250 words:

Question 1: Describe your career goals and aspirations.

  • Question 2: Write about a person or event in your life that has positively impacted you.
  • A letter of recommendation must be attached from a teacher, school counsellor, or school administrator.
  • Financial Needs Form must be submitted with the application form.

Benefits 

This scholarship will adequately help the students and focus on their education and not on the expenses. The amount should only be used to pay the students’ needs like tuition, fees and other associated costs. The program encourages the students to accomplish their goals and work harder for their dreams.
