Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners is an international professional foundation for practitioners of Firearm and/or Toolmark Identification. It has been exchanging information, methods and best practices, and the furtherance of research since its creation in 1969. It organizes the six days program in each spring and summer in different cities across North America to provide the opportunity for the sharing of information through presentations and workshops.

Who May Be Eligible

- Applicants must be entering their third year or higher of a bachelor’s degree or enrolled in any year of an advanced degree (MS, PhD, MD or comparable) program;
- Candidates must be enrolled as a half-time student or greater with the intent of seeking a career in Forensic Science and majoring in a natural, physical, or biological science;
- Aspirants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent (76% or higher).
