The “Young Writers Contest” is an initiative to encourage youngsters to take up writing and other literary professions. Writing improves our listening and critical thought abilities. Writing allows us to convey who we are as individuals. Our thinking and learning become tangible and lasting as we write them down. Writing improves our capacity to communicate and clarify our thoughts to others and ourselves. Thus, this competition re-emphasizes its importance.
The Hominum Journal considers the writer and the body to be the same. They agree there is vocabulary deep inside the bone marrow and muscle tissue, in addition to the morphology of storytelling. A language that bridges the gap between mind, body, and spirit. When moved beyond the tangible, a language can challenge, heal, and embody. That is the source of inspiration for starting this competition.
