Who May Be Eligible?

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be current students with good photography skill;
  • Students need to be between 18 – 30 years of age on the closing date of the competition;
  • Entrants must study photography as their primary programme, in order to receive a diploma/degree within a field of photography or study photography as a recognized programme as part of their chosen diploma/degree of study;
  • Participants can be residents of any country around the globe.

How to Apply

Students for this contest must be nominated by their institution. Institutions will need to fill out an online application form to register for their students to take part. Institutions can register as many students as they wish.

Note

Students are required to submit a series of five to ten images responding to a brief of “Building a better future”. Ten shortlisted students will be chosen and sent to London to take part in exciting portfolios and photography masterclasses. The ten shortlisted students are each given a Sony camera to shoot a new series of images to answer a second brief.

Benefits

For this competition, one overall ten shortlisted students will be chosen as the winner and receive €30,000 worth of Sony digital imaging equipment for his or her institution. This amount can be used to cover the educational expenses of students.
