Who May Be Eligible?
Eligibility requirements for both Voice Democracy and Patriots Pen scholarships are different. Here are some mandatory requirements
- Students in grade 6th, 7th, 8th,9 to 12 enrolled by the October 31 deadline in public, parochial school, private, or home study program in the U.S., its territories, or its possessions.
- Dependents of U.S. military or civilian personnel in overseas schools are also eligible.
How to Apply
If you are eligible and interested in the programs, then you can apply by downloading an application form and filling it with all the required details and the supporting materials. All applications are expected to be received before the deadline to be considered for the program. Late applications will not be entertained. Applicants should make sure that the material they provide is original.

Voice Of Democracy
The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient institute. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1000 to $16000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department wins a minimum scholarship of $1000, and all the expense paid trip to Washington, D.C
Patriot’s Pen
Each first-place state winner receives a minimum of $500 at the national level, and the national; first-place winner wins $5000, and all expenses paid trip to Washington D.C
