To attract the top talented students from around the New York State, University at Albany is seeking applications for its Presidential Scholarship open for the academic year 2020-21. This scholarship will be awarded to all incoming freshmen who are residents of New York State.
The Presidential Scholarship wants to recruit those students who have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence in their previous institution. This scholarship will help students both financially and personally. It will keep students away from financial stress and open the doors of opportunities by making higher education affordable for them.
University at Albany was formed in 1844 as an open research university, and in 1905, it becomes the first institution for higher learning in New York State to offer a bachelor’s degree. It started granting a master’s degree in 1913. It has nine schools and colleges that offer a variety of highly-rated courses in various fields. The university provides its students with essential tools they need to achieve their full potential, and cultivate some useful skills. Who May Be Eligible?
To qualify for this scholarship programme, please meet the following requirements:
- Applicants should be incoming freshmen residents of New York State;
- Candidates should have graduated from a New York State high school.
How to Apply
Applicants don’t need to send separate applications for this funding programme. They will automatically be selected upon enrolling in an approved undergraduate course at the university. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)is encouraged.
Benefits
All eligible candidates will get an award of $5,000 toward tuition which is renewable for up to three consecutive academic years contingent upon successful completion of the freshmen year. Apart from this, they will receive non-tuition awards such as fees, room and board expenses, books, and other personal expenses.
