Then Time Magazine Kid Reporter Contest is a golden chance for you to check the ability of your child and give the wings to his/her aspirations. This year, Time USA, LLC is presenting a fantastic competition with the purpose of making available a platform for children where they can show their talent. Time Magazine Kid Reporter Contest also targets helping students in getting an understanding of this profession and taking their inner reporter out. This contest is specially designed for legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who are 13 years of age or younger as of September 1, 2021.
For this contest, up to 10 winners will be chosen by the judges, and each winner will be given the title of “TIME for Kids – Kid Reporter” and given assignments and asked to represent TIME Magazine and TIME for Kids in national and/or local media. This program appears as a beautiful opportunity for your child to develop talent, enhance existed skills and boost confidence. Nowadays, young students are showing interest in being a reporter and are often noticed doing activities of a reporter. Reporting can be exciting for them, and it is your responsibility as parents to address their interest and become their torchbearer. Showing young students the right path to success is very important not only for parents but others, and that is why Time USA, LLC is proud to launch this program that could be the right starting point for their reporting career.

For many years, it has been a weekly magazine, but in 2021 it switched to bi-weekly.

Who May Be Eligible
Please meet the following requirements to get the best consideration possible:
- Legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, who are 13 years of age or younger as of September 1, 2021, are invited to send their application;
- Eligible minors may only participate in the Contest with the express written permission of their parents or legal guardian.
How to Apply
To send an entry for this program, the parent or legal guardian of a candidate needs to go to the online portal of Time USA, LLC and follow the instructions on the Website to complete the program entry form with all accurate information. The information needs to be correct and complete to get consideration for this program.
Supporting Documents
Parent or guardian also provides an original essay that must be written by the candidate and explaining why a candidate would be a good reporter for TIME for Kids. The essay must be 50 words or less and written in English and an original news article that demonstrates the aspirant’s reporting skills of 450 words or less. The entry must have a signature of the aspirant’s parent or legal guardian and be mailed to the following address:

Benefits
For this contest, up to 10 winners will be chosen. Each winner will be considered a “TIME for Kids – Kid Reporter” and may be provided with assignments and asked to represent TIME Magazine and TIME for Kids in national and/or local media. They will also get a chance to report for TIME for Kids and/or TIME Magazine and their respective online and social media channels from August 2021 to August 2022. Each reporter will be given a byline if his/her story is published. Each Kid Reporter will get a TIME for Kids Kid Reporter T-shirt, press credential, reporter’s notebook, and letter of congratulations.
