2021 Steel Competition for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture is very proud to organize a wonderful steel competition for students. The contest is open for applications for the school year of 2021-2022. It is a 21 annual competition of Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture and is sponsored by the American Institute of Steel Construction. This program will challenge all participants, working individually or in the team, to identify the variety of issues using steel in design and construction. This year’s competition has been divided into two categories. It means all students have the option to compete in their favourite categories: workplace wellness and Open. The applications will be accepted by talented undergraduate and graduate students.

One candidate cannot enter both categories at a time. The first category is about workplace wellness which will require all the participants to rethink the work’s nature post-pandemic period and go beyond the traditional way of working and think about environments where everyone is safe and thrives. The second one is named open, which will give contestants the opportunity to select a site and building program using steel as the primary material. The second category will offer flexibility for any building type. As part of this competition, students will get to learn many functional and aesthetic uses for steel as a building material and structural system. So if you find architecture find interesting, then this program is your opportunity to expand the horizon of your knowledge and get a deep insight into this field.

Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture is also recognized as ACSA and an international association of architecture schools preparing future architects, designers, and change agents since 1912 when it was founded by ten charter members. Its members consist of the accredited professional degree programs in the United States and Canada, international schools and 2- and 4-year programs. ACSA is currently providing education to more than 40,000 students. Apart from education, it makes available venues for international peer review and offers scholarly journals, conferences, awards, and student design competitions.

All undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply.

To apply, candidates will have to register through the online portal of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture for this competition. To register, they need to set up an account, or if they already have one, they can use it to log in and access the online application form.

Benefits

This contest is worth $20,000. The award amount will be varied based on the place that candidates will sure. Winners will be selected for three categories: First, Second and third. This challenge will help students gain knowledge and recognization as well as financial support that they need for their education.
