Sisters United are encouraging the students to submit one art piece created by the individual and sold at the Sovereign Arts Auction Online, and 50% of it will be given to the recipient. In this, the artist is free to select any of the given categories to create the artwork.
Sisters United is influencing students of different age groups towards the arts. And they are trying to share the burden of the students of the fees for their convenient and peaceful academics without having a responsibility related to costs and interrupting their creativity. Its mission is to empower Indigenous women, children, and communities by helping them at the forefront. They heal through art, connecting with the land and their creator, focusing on healthy lifestyles, and educating people on the history of Indigenous people in the country.
Sisters United was established in early 2019 by Candice English. They started with the first program as a monthly initiative to raise funds for Missing, and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW), which has since turned into a life form of its own. To provide academic affordability to students irrespective of background, the organization has initiated a Sovereign Arts Scholarship. The fundamental purpose of creating these scholarships is to promote the arts and future artists’ development through education.
