The Smartwool organisation has announced the Smartwool Scholarship 2021. Smartwool has developed the Smartwool – Go Far and Feel Good – Scholarship Program in collaboration with UNCF. Ten need-based scholarships will be awarded to rising college juniors and seniors from North Carolina and Tennessee. All academic majors are welcome, but applicants majoring in architecture, apparel, banking, marketing, operations, textiles, and related fields will be given priority. Applications are open to any individual who is enrolled at a university during the 2021 academic year.
The Smartwool Scholarship 2021, aims to provide aid to those individuals who are in dire financial need and have no resources to finance their education. The organization hopes to help these individuals to ‘go far ‘ in their lives, in the career path or field of their choice and help them ‘feel good about themselves and their decisions.

Who May Be Eligible?
In order to be qualified for the Smartwool Scholarship 2021, the applicants must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- You must currently be a sophomore or junior in college.
- Be enrolled full-time in a North Carolina or Tennessee certified HBCU or UNCF member institution for the 2021-2022 academic year.
- To be qualified, you must be a permanent resident of North Carolina or Tennessee.
- On a 4.0 scale, you would have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5.
- Have filled out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and indicated an unmet financial need, as determined by the applicant’s academic institution.

Supporting Documents
The application must include the following documents:
- An existing university transcript, whether official or unofficial.
- Two (2) 1-page reflective essays, one for each of the following topics:
- Your enthusiasm for the outdoors and the natural world, as well as how you have participated in outdoor sports through academic, extracurricular, and volunteer activities.
- Since the scholarship is a vital part of Smartwool’s community and ideology, an explanation of how you exemplify one of Smartwool’s principles (action, activism, inclusivity, fun-loving, and openness) is required.

The Smartwool Scholarship 2021 will provide the selected candidates with $2,500
