Students who have survived physical, emotional or sexual violence deserves financial and moral support. These students should be appreciated for their will power and perseverance. The EVE or End Violent Encounters to do the same is introducing its precious Shari Murgittroyd Scholarship Fund. Students looking forward to completing their higher education and demonstrate financial need are eligible to apply for the program.
The main aim of the program is to support the students who have survived hardships and faced the extreme challenges of life. The foundation understands the difficulties students who have survived domestic or sexual violence in the past face while completing their higher education. The funds are designed in the memory of Shari Murgittroyd who lost her life while struggling with cancer on August 23, 2020. She was the part of the committee for years and lived her life helping the survivors and being the voice of needy ones.
End Violent Encounters or EVE was founded in 1977. The Council Against Domestic Assault (CADA) began with concerned community members who are willing to support their neighbours, family and friends. The mission of the community is to support sexual abuse survivors and domestic in their healing journey. End Violent Encounters is a non-profit service provider with programs that use a non-judgmental, strengths-based approach and supportive based approach. The foundation does not discriminate amongst the people.
