Around a fifth of all college scholarships are awarded to community college students, and they receive more than a tenth of all scholarship dollars.
Community college applicants can be eligible for additional grants simply by applying. Since they are much more likely to pursue and qualify for scholarships, students at four-year universities are three times more likely to receive college scholarships than students at community colleges.
