RSA Student Video Contest for K-12 Students

Rural Schools Association is calling students from around the United States to participate in its wonderful video contest. RSA with the generous support of NYSIR has created this competition that will run from October 4 through February 28, 2022. This program is open for students in K-12 grades. There are two categories in this program: The first is for K to 8-grade students and the second is for 9 to 12. In each category, three awards will be given: (1) Grand prize; (2) First place; (3) First place runner up. This year’s theme for this competition is “Our School, Our Community” on which candidates will have to create an interesting video reflecting life in a rural community.

There is no limitation on the form of video whether it is music videos, narrated videos, documentary style or present material in the form of short plays. In short, the sky’s the limit on creativity; as long as it’s three minutes or less. Entrants are supposed to submit their videos via the RSA NY Student Video Contest Collaborative Playlist on their YouTube Channel. Winning entries will be shown at RSA NY’s Summer Conference in July 2022. Moreover, winners will be featured online and in RSA NY Communications.

With the aim of considering the special concerns and needs of the rural and small school districts of New York State, Rural Schools Association was founded in 1978 just after a statewide conference conducted by the Council on Rural Education and the Rural Regional Education Association.
