The “RHS Photographic Competition” is an initiative to encourage all people young and old alike to experience and appreciate the flora around them, in the form of plants and gardens. Home gardens, along with urban gardens, parks, and other green areas, are critical components of the restoration of lost habitat. Gardeners will contribute to the restoration of some of nature’s harmony by planning their landscape with wildlife in mind. They also have a therapeutic impact on humans.
The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), formerly known as the Horticultural Society of London, is the UK’s leading gardening charity. It was established in 1804 as the Horticultural Society of London. The RHS encourages horticulture through its four, soon to be five, gardens at Wisley (Surrey), Hyde Hall (Essex), Harlow Carr (Yorkshire), Rosemoor (Devon), and Bridgewater (Greater Manchester); flower shows such as the Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Tatton Park Flower Show, and Cardiff Flower Show; group gardening schemes; and flower shows such as the Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, Tatton Park Flower Show; Britain in Bloom, as well as a comprehensive school scheme.
