ReadSC, South Carolina Center for the Book, holds a fantastic program named “ReadSC Writing Contest”. This program is organized under three levels, and students can apply to compete in one of these three levels as per their grade. ReadSC Writing Contest is specially designed for South Carolina students in grades 4-12 to provide them a platform where they can flaunt their writing skills, polish them and gain amazing prizes along with recognization. At the end of the application period, three winners will be chosen from two categories: Letters and poetry. This program allows aspirants to submit their entry for one or both types. Successful candidates will get amazing cash prizes.
The categories of the program will challenge students to give their best, reach their highest potential, and demonstrate their talent. Under the latter category, applicants will have to write down a letter to an author, whether living or dead. The letter must describe how the work of that particular writing has changed their way of thinking about the world and yourself. The second category is poetry, for which all contestants will have to pen down an amazing poem on how you wish to shape the world, the impact you wish to have, and how you wish the world to be, no matter how big or small. Entries can be submitted online through the application portal of the “ReadSC Writing Contest.”
The South Carolina Center for the Book was started in 1996, and since then, it has been celebrating our rich literary heritage, encouraging the public to pay attention to the importance of books, writers, and reading.
