Fellows should be continuing college students who are children or dependents of CFT members in good academic standing to be eligible. Applicants who are children of deceased CFT members are too eligible.
The CFT or the California Federation of Teachers has designed this scholarship to reduce the financial stress of the students and encourage them to achieve their career goals. The federation is aware of the struggles students go through while completing their education. The Foundation wants to help the students with it through this program. This scholarship helps the students to be free from extensive educational stress.
The California Federation of Teachers which represents 60,000 educational employees and affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers. The federation has 24 service centres in California offering some extraordinary services, from insurance and travel programs to sabbatical boards to the members. The Foundation initiates different programs to help the members and their loved ones with everything possible. The federation has a rich history of supporting its members.

How to Apply
Candidates should download the application and fill it with every necessary information. Any incomplete or inadequate submission done will not be accepted by the federation. Fellows should provide all the necessary data without any delay. Do not submit incomplete applications as that will lead to rejection. Invalid information submitted will not be considered to award scholarships.

- Applications, along with essay 500-word essay on a social issue about which the applicant feels strongly should be submitted prior to the deadline.
Benefits
The benefits of each program are different. $3000 are awarded to students entering or attending a four-year university; $1000 scholarships are awarded to students entering or attending a two-year school. These scholarships encourage students to do better in their careers through the programs. The funds must only be utilized to defray the education-related expenses of the candidates.
