In celebration of its public health laboratory appreciation month this September, APHL has brought an amazing art contest looking forward to applications from talented art lovers. This art competition is your opportunity to showcase your skills and win some very exciting prizes along with recognization. What you need to do is create a fantastic artwork of a microbe or microbial colony. From sketch, paint, to sculpt, bake and knit, you are free to use any technique you want. Anyone who works for a local, state, federal, or territorial public health laboratory is invited to participate in this program. Public health laboratories will also include environmental health, agricultural, and food safety labs.
The best part of this contest is that no one will go without a prize. Whether a winner or not, every participant will get something. All entries will get a free T-shirt and mask. So don’t forget to include your shirt size and shipping address with your submission. If you are chosen as the grand prize winner, you will win a catered lunch for you and your colleagues, a gift basket of QIAGEN giveaways, and a mural of all collected artwork. This contest will be held under three categories: Most Creative, Most Realistic, and Most Inspiring. Winners will also receive QIAGEN’s Gut Check Board Game.
