NIAF Photo Contest for College Students

2020 has been the most unexpected and worst year in everyone’s lives because of covid-19. During that hard time, many people have lost their lives, many have lost their loved ones, many lost their jobs, and whatnot. This year has been in some way the most miserable time in almost everyone’s lives. But however, many of us have survived this and have come a long way ahead of that. The only thing that kept most of us from losing hope and not giving up was the support of our families and the positivity or hope that everything will be fine.

Given that, National Italian American Foundation is organizing its ninth annual NIAF photo contest for amateur and professional photographers. The theme of this year’s photo contest is Tutto Bene! The meaning of the theme is “Everything is fine!”. This theme seems appropriate and best suits the current situation of covid-19. To participate in the following contest, applicants are required to take an original picture or photo digging out an incredible shot which they think best applies to the following theme and explains the idea the theme is trying to convey. All the instructions and rules are discussed later in the article. The five most deserving candidates will be selected as winners of this contest and will be announced through NIAF’s website and social media.

The National Italian American Foundation is a nationwide organization based in Washington, D.C., and is the biggest and most loyal representative of more than 20 million Italian American citizens residing in the United States. NIAF was formed in 1975 as a non-profit organization with no political affiliations. NIAF’s mission is to be a resource for the Italian American community and has been dedicated to preserving Italian American culture and heritage. They work for promoting and inspiring a positive image and legacy of Italian Americans and strengthen and empower the United States and Italy.
